this is one of the last pieces i made.. it's called Superstar.With this piece i was trying to mix pop from the 60's & pop from today.. the name refers to Andy Warhols "superstars" this was a term he used to describe the cool people around him. The piece has a small mirror behind the lens, so you can see yourself in it.. in a way implying that you too can be a superstar.
Also the piece has elements that were inspired by Tom Sachs, Takashi Murakami & my trip to Rome in 2007.. the Vatican has lots of things in shiny gold & glass boxes.. it makes the most inanimate object look & feel important.
